Hazrat Abdurrahman bin Auf

Hazrat Abu Muhammad, Abdurrahman bin Auf bin Abd e Auf bin Abdul Harith, Al Zuhri Al Qurashi, was the companion of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and one of the ten promised paradise, Sahaba. He was one of the six Sahaba, that were chosen for caliphate by Hazrat Umar bin Khattab.
He was born in 44 BH, 580 CE. His name was, in the time of ignorance, “Abdul Ka’aba” or “Abd e Amr”, but Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) changed his name to “Abdurrahman”. He was among them, who accepted Islam first. It is narrated that he was eighth person to embrace Islam.
Hazrat Abdurrahman bin Auf fought the battles of Badr, Uhud and others. And he was hit 21 times in the battle of Uhud. His was a wealthy tradesman. One day, he gave alms to a caravan, with seven hundred camels; every camel bears the food materials. On the day, when he died, he ordered one thousand horses and fifty thousand dinars to be spent in the way of Allah. He was died in 32 BH, 652 CE in Madina Sharif. He narrated 65 Hadiths from Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
