Hazrat Abu Ubaidah

Hazrat Abu Ubaidah Aamir bin Abdullah bin Al Jarrah bin Hilal, Al Fihri Al Quraishi, was the commander in chief, the conqueror of Syrian Territories, the companion of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and one of the ten Promised paradise, Sahaba. Hazrat Abu Ubaidah and Hazrat Abu Bakr Al Siddiq were the intellectuals of the clan of Quraish. His surname was “Amin ul Ummah”.

He was born in Makkah Sharif in 40 BH, 584 CE. He was the Muslims, who hurried to accept Islam. He participated in all the battles of early Islam. Hazrat Umar bin Khattab appointed him chief commander after Hazrat Khalid bin Walid for the forces going to Syria. And the Syrian Territories were conquered by him. And he reached Euphrates River in east and Anatolia in north.

He was died in the famous Cancer of Amwas in 18 AH, 639 CE. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said: “There is an Amin (Secretary) for every Prophet, and my Amin (Secretary) is Abu Ubaidah.”
